When you think of mega-centers of innovation and start-ups, the City of Austin is always high on the list. It's fitting then, that our first Mega-Conference Innovation Award will be presented in this creative, lively city!

This award will be presented to an individual newspaper or multi-property media company – not to an individual person.
The 2016 Mega-Conference, sponsored by Inland Press Association, Local Media Association and the Southern Newspaper Publishers Association, will wrap up on Wednesday morning, Feb. 24, by showcasing the winners of the first annual Mega-Innovation Awards.
Carol Hudler, conference program coordinator, said this new competition is designed "to identify and reward those companies that are successfully transitioning their businesses to take advantage of the emerging trends in media and marketing."
Hudler is CEO of Hudler Success Strategies in Nashville, Tenn. She previously served as group president for the Gannett U.S. Community Publishing Division for seven years, where she oversaw 13 local media operations in the Southeastern United States. She served for 18 years as a publisher of daily newspapers in Nashville (The Tennessean), The News-Press in Fort Myers, Fla., and The Telegraph in Macon, Ga.
All entries are due no later than Jan. 7. Contest judges will be announced soon.
