Audience: Leveraging the Frenemy

Posted

The Washington Post's digital audience has more than tripled over the past three years to almost 100 million uniques, making it one of the world's fastest-growing media companies.

As the managing editor for digital at The Washington Post, Emilio Garcia-Ruiz oversees the newsroom's development, implementation and execution of digital strategy. During a breakout session at next month's Key Executives Mega-Conference, he will share the paper's strategy for using distributed content to attract readers and acquire subscribers.

Before becoming managing editor, Garcia-Ruiz was the editor for strategic projects at The Washington Post, leading the creation of more than a dozen new digital products and laying the foundation for future growth. Garcia-Ruiz was also the Post's Local, Sunday and Sports editor. In 2000, he edited the Pulitzer Prize-winning investigation by the St. Paul Pioneer Press that uncovered academic fraud in the University of Minnesota men's basketball program.

With a number of compelling options to choose from during breakout sessions, conference attendees will have some hard choices to make.  Consider sending multiple attendees to the Mega-Conference to take full advantage of the opportunities in Orlando.
