Jarvis: Papers' future will be in value, not volume

Newspaper publishers need to stop clinging to their ideas of mass audience and instead develop closer relationships with their key communities, says media professor Jeff Jarvis. The embattled industry will only find its way forward by embracing those communities, building more relevant new products for them and continuing to pursue new revenue lines, including membership models centered around "new tribes and affinities."
